A little about me…
Background
My academic journey began with a pursuit of a degree in Mathematical Physics at The University of Nottingham. However, by the end of my first year, I uncovered my true passion for Pure Mathematics. This revelation led me to make a significant decision to change my degree. While this adjustment placed me a year behind in my Pure Maths studies, it proved to be a seamless transition. Outstanding academic performance paved the way for me to advance a year, enabling me to delve into third-year Pure Maths modules during my third academic year. The experience was rewarding, culminating in the achievement of a First Class Honours in Pure Mathematics.
Transition to data
Upon completing my university journey, the harsh reality hit me that delving into research in Algebraic Topology might not be a viable path. The intricacies of Pure Maths, while fascinating, didn’t promise immediate profitability on a significant scale. I sought a profession that harmonised logic with creativity, fostered communication, and thrived on teamwork. That’s when I stumbled upon the captivating realm of Data Engineering. In many ways, Data Engineering echoed the principles I cherished in Pure Mathematics. It serves as the cornerstone for any data-driven enterprise, a reliable force empowering businesses to extract valuable insights and drive informed decisions.
Hobbies
During my leisure time, I am an avid gamer, particularly enjoying raids in Destiny 2. Teamwork is fundamental for success in these endeavours. Through these experiences, I’ve gained insights into crucial team dynamics, where I learned to adeptly adjusted both my role and others’, a key factor in our collective success. I derive immense satisfaction from teaching others raids they haven’t encountered before. At my peak, I ranked 600th globally for sherpas on the “Root of Nightmares” raid, assisting over 50 individuals in achieving their first clear. These experiences have honed my social skills and patience. Beyond gaming, I have a deep passion for exploring various music genres and indulging in long walks amidst nature.
